Today women from different social classes and backgrounds have proved their significance and that they are nowhere less in comparison to men in all various fields of life. Women have proved from time to time that their role in the nation building is a significant one. All these women need is an opportunity. The institute has always planned various programmes and events in order to make them financially independent. This initiative has proved to be a milestone and has definitely helped us achieve women empowerment.
The institute organized a women employment fare on October 9th 2016 for the women living in areas nearby our college. Our Students visited nearby villages and informed the women about that event. As a result, this event turned out to be a big success. over 137 women registered their presence. 89 women, from the 137 women who participated found employment in an undergarments company called Juliet Apparels ltd Kongoan. The company provided them with bus or other facilities of transportation. So these women are working wholeheartely for their better livlihood. On the grounds of this success, the institute organized yet another campaign like the earlier one on January 22nd 2017. In this event the students worked on encouraging more and more women to join this initiative and tried to get to know the problem of women already working.
Many families benefited from this programme.This initiative saved many families from falling apart. But most importantly it has helped women understand their worth and increased their self- esteem.
On 17th January 2016, National Service Scheme and Womens Forum Department organized a one-day legal workshop by inviting women Self help groups in the area.150 womens took part in this session. Attendees and testimonies of the groups were honoured. The program received a good response from women in the area. Our 57 students done the management work like filling up the form, lunch arrangement etc
The institute organized an event to honour the Female achievers from Political, Social Sports and other various fields on the occasion of International Women’s day On March 8th 2017. In this event about 13 women were honoured for their outstanding contribution in different fields. The chief guest of this event PSI Mr. VenkateshAandhale gave his speech on the Empowerment of Women. About 170 women were present on the occasion.
Self-help groups can play an important role in womens financial empowerment. These women produce on a large scale, but what is difficult for them is getting market. Maharashtra ShramaVidnyan Sanshta Mumbai and our institute three day financial leadership development campaign for Self-help groups. Between 24thFebruary 2018 to 26th February 2018. Over 60 female beneficiaries received advantage from this campaign.
Rural areas often face many problems and the health issues are one of the biggest problems of them all. However womens health is neglected largely. Our students have implemented a lot of health campaigns for womens health.
Depression, decline in environmental balance, some hereditary issues, overdose of medicine etc. Can cause the child to be mentally or physically handicapped. To which there is no solution, but if the women are given Rubella vaccination before marriage, we can definitely save the child from being born as a handicapped one.
Keeping the significance of Rubella vaccination in mind, the institue has been organizing free Rubella vaccination since 2015-16, 16-17, 17-18 .Near about 520, 480, 564 girls were given then vaccination This campaign is organized in collaboration with Rotary Club Dombivli North. Our institue has put efforts from time to time to take care of womens health.
On August 11, 2015 Haemoglobin and HIV checking campaign was arranged in college. Around 312 students took the advantage of this campaign. Students who have less haemoglobin count were given Folic acid medicine
Our Institute and Rotract Club jointly organized the Tuberculosis campaign at Ghotasai Village. 87 beneficiaries were tested.
On the occasion of NSS week 27th September 2016 our 40 NSS volunteers visited Goveli hospital for their HIV check-up.
On 08th October 2016 WDC department and Rotary Club of Dombivli organized a Rubella Vaccination and Haemoglobin Inspection camp. 420 Girls benefited from the formation of Women Development Forum.
On 29th November 2016 Our institute had organized Eye Checking Camp at Rayate village. Mrs. Padmashree Jadhav Sarpanch of Rayate village was present there for Inauguration.During this camp doctor found 19 patients of Cataract. Villagers benefited from this camp.
On 29th 2016 Our Institute organized a cancer testing camp at rayate 29 female beneficiaries were checked in this camp.
On 18th August 2018 Our institute organized a Dental checkup camp in adopted village Thakurpada. 41 villagers took benefit of this event. After the event School children were distributed educational Aid
On the occasion of NSS week 27th September 2017 our college students visited Goveli hospital for their testing 40 students check them in this camp
On 04th February 2018 Our Institute organized free cancer Check-up camp in our college. 61 Outsiders and 21 college students took benefit, and got the check-up done. Management was done by our college students
On 07th February 2018 Our institute organized Health& Dental checkup camp in Adopted village Thakurpada. Many of the villagers took benefit of this event. 21 college students participated in this camp.
